Yosemite Families & Memories
I have thought for a long time that the human history of the Yosemite should be cataloged so that it is now lost. The human history is all of us. If you vacationed there, it you worked there, if you hang a picture of one of its glories in a special place, Yosemite has touched your life. On this site you find time linkes and those include events, many taking place in Yosemite, during the life of Arthur C. Pillsbury, my grandfather. Over the years I have found people who connect to him, to Yosemite, and to each other in wonderful and ordinary ways. The stories flesh out my understanding of AC and his life and help we understand the whole tapestry of families living through time. So we will put up a time line and you can either send in your stories or send a link and I will put that up so we can bring together our stories. Think creative. Think innovative. Think about what you have, photos, video, scanned souvenirs, letters written on stationary from Camp Curry, that special bracelet your grandmother left you. This way we can all share. Time Line
The ordinary moments are also history and that history can connect us, providing continuity and explanations for events that become visible only after the passing of time. Connecting through the places we love, as so many of us love Yosemite, is a natural extension of our own family histories. Yosemite Families is a Club.
